Food Support SNAP
Supplemental Food Assistance Program
Public Announcement
Based on a federal court ruling on Oct. 31, The Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) expects they will be able to provide at least partial SNAP and MFIP food benefits in November.
These funds have not been released yet, and they don’t know exactly how much money will be available. But DCYF has been preparing to get these important benefits to families as quickly as possible.

This program provides help to purchase food products. The program issues electronic food support benefits that can be spent like cash in most food stores.
The amount of food support you receive is dependent upon your income and household expenses. You may be able to get food support within 5 business days if you meet expedited criteria. For more information see the State of Minnesota Website. You must complete a Combined Application Form in our office or online at MNbenefits. An interview is required in order to determine eligibility for SNAP.
Use the Eligibility Screening Tool provided by Bridge to Benefits to see if you or someone else may be eligible for public work support programs. It will ask you a few simple questions but will NOT ask you for information that identifies you. It's easy, confidential and free!
