While Spring Load Restrictions are on, all gravel surfaced roads are restricted to 5 tons per axle. All bituminous surfaced roads are posted to 5, 7, 9 or 10 tons per axle. The spring load restrictions are based on gross axle weights and includes the weight of both vehicle and its load. A Seasonal Load Limit Zones Map of the roads and a schedule of road postings are available below.
During the spring season the structure of the roadway is weakened and more vulnerable to damage. Restrictions limit the legal gross axle weights of vehicles and reduce the amount of damage they do to the roadways. No permits for overweight axle loads will be issued during this time.
To report a suspected overweight vehicle, please contact the Sheriff's Office at 333-9111 or the Public Works Department - Highway Division at 333-8173.
