Recreational Facilities Plan

The Natural Resource Management Department is creating a new park plan and want to hear from the public. Citizen ideas and feedback will help us design parks that reflect the needs and values of our community. Share your thoughts and let us know what new features, activities, or experiences you would like to see incorporated into our county park system. No idea is too big or too small! 

The Original Park Plan was adopted by the County Board in 2008 with updates in 2011 and 2013.

We are also seeking citizens interested in outdoor recreation to sit on a steering committee to share ideas and provide recommendations for the future of the Park and Recreation system in Beltrami County.

The process will fill up to five (5) citizen positions on the Beltrami County Park Plan Steering Committee. Interested citizens should complete and submit the Park Plan Steering Committee Citizen Application Form by 4:30 p.m. April 10, 2026. Applications will be reviewed and selection notification will be complete by April 17, 2026.

Other committee members will likely include:

1.    Two Beltrami County Commissioners

2.    Natural Resource Management Staff

3.    State/Federal Agency Recreation Staff

4.    Local Business and Tourism agencies

Commitment:

Attend three weekday evening meetings lasting approximately 3 hours:

Anticipated meeting dates are in May 2026, October 2026, and April 2027.

Additional meetings along with email communications may be requested as the planning process dictates.
