Facilities Management/Safety

Steve Shadrick, Manager

The Facilities Management Department is responsible for overseeing activities relating to county buildings, grounds and safety.  The department provides operational support for a county campus of seven major buildings and several outlying sites.   The department is also responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring county safety programs and policies. Working in conjunction with county departments, local, state and federal officials to ensure proper indoor air quality, ADA compliance, fire and life safety code compliance and energy conservation is also the responsibility of Facilities Management. The department manages an annual operating budget and capital improvement planning budget to ensure county financial needs are met.

Maintenance and Custodial staff strives to provide a safe, clean, comfortable, and efficient working environment for all of our customers, tenants, and employees.  The maintenance staff provides a variety of services such as HVAC repair and maintenance, electrical repairs, plumbing repairs, landscaping, carpentry and wood working, snow removal, building structural and equipment preventive maintenance, building security, and other assigned tasks.  The custodial staff provides support to maintenance when needed for snow removal, recycling, and light bulb replacement.  However the custodial staff primary functions are to maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe environment in and around county buildings.
