Press Release: Monday Evening Storm Update

The Beltrami County Emergency Operations Center remains open to support response to the destructive severe weather that struck Beltrami County during the morning hours of June 21, 2025. The Beltrami County Board of Commissioners extended the State of Emergency at a Special Meeting today for 30 days

United Way of Bemidji and Community Resource Connections are providing services and resources to connect volunteers and those in need. Volunteers should call 218-444-8929 or visit the United Way Bemidji website at https://www.unitedwaybemidji.org/disaster-recovery. Those needing assistance can call 218-333-0880 or visit crcinform.org.

As the need for overnight sheltering has subsided, the Assistance Center has closed the overnight shelter as clients have been able to return to their pre-disaster accommodations or alternative arrangements have been made. The Assistance Center will remain open from 8am-6pm through Wednesday. Essential supplies such as snacks and water are still available.

Solid Waste has extended demolition landfill hours and expanded to a second location. The field behind Target at 2115 23^rd St NW is now equipped to accept tree debris, opening Tuesday, June 24. This location will ONLY accept tree debris. Both the permanent Demolition Landfill and the temporary location will be open Tuesday-Saturday this week from 7am-7pm.

There has been confusion on curbside pickup of debris. Beltrami County will not be doing curbside pickup of storm debris along county roads from private property. Residents should not bring their debris to the roadside. The information for curbside pickup from the City of Bemidji is for properties within the city. Individual townships conducting debris clearance may have different criteria for what will be picked up, please contact your township for additional information.
