Press Release: CodeRED Decommissioned

Press Release: Beltrami County Emergency Notification System

November 24, 2025

The CodeRED by OnSolve Emergency Notification System used by Beltrami County has been decommissioned due to a cyberattack and data breach at the vendor level. OnSolve customers lost access to the platform on November 10, 2025. Alerting authorities who used the platform have also had their access to FEMA’s Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) revoked which limits the agencies’ ability to quickly send out warning messages.

There are redundancies in place for Beltrami County to get emergency alerts and information out that include both the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office and Beltrami County Emergency Management Facebook pages, the Beltrami County website, Emergency Alert System through broadcast tv and radio and our local media partners. Wireless Emergency Alerts can be sent at the County’s request through the state Homeland Security and Emergency Management agency but will slow the process. There is currently no capability to place phone call notifications.

Beltrami County is actively evaluating options to replace the CodeRED by OnSolve platform. The vendor provided additional information over the weekend indicating data that has been compromised may include contact groups built by the alerting authorities, phone numbers, addresses, emails, username and passwords for accounts. If you created an account with CodeRED by OnSolve and used a similar username and password for other applications, you should change your passwords.

If you receive any alerts or messages from CodeRED on behalf of Beltrami County, terminate the communication. Beltrami County accessed CodeRED by OnSolve through a web-based application and has not compromised other Beltrami County infrastructure. Beltrami County had used the platform for 12 years with alerts being sent by Emergency Management and the 911 Dispatch Center.
