Grant Creek Horse Camp

Grant Creek Horse Camp and Recreation Area was designated by the Beltrami County Board on August 6, 2013.

The horse camp is located approximately 6 miles west of Bemidji, Minnesota. It offers multiple non-electric equestrian camp sites with trailer parking, picnic tables, fire rings, tie lines, and a manure pit and vault toilet. A high capacity well, with hand pump and generator hook-up, was installed in 2014 and a sheltered picnic area was built in 2015. Development and enhancements to the area are ongoing with the involvement of various local groups and State organizations.

Grant Creek Horse Camp is a first come, first serve facility. This is strictly a horse camp facility with free horse related camping.

Although fire rings are provided for the purpose of building campfires, firewood is not provided and should be brought by campers for personal use. Because firewood can harbor invasive insect species that can harm live trees in Beltrami County we ask that you:

It is important to the Beltrami County Parks and Recreation Department that all who visit the Grant Creek Horse Camp enjoy their stay. All visitors are asked to abide by the rules as adopted by the Beltrami County Board.

Grant Creek Horse Camp is the only overnight developed campground that is maintained by Beltrami County NRM Department as a designated campsite for horseback trail riding.  There are seven camp-sites available, having an associated picnic table, tie-line, and fire ring.   The following “Rules” regulate camping at Grant Creek Horse Camp:
