PAY DATES County employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule with pay days every other Thursday. Employees will receive their first check within 30 days of their date of hire. Direct deposit of paychecks is required.

LONGEVITY PAY
Longevity pay may be available after 5 or 10 years of service depending on union contract language.
DEFERRED COMPENSATION
A deferred annuity plan that includes a variety of investment options is available through Nationwide Retirement Solutions, (NACo); Minnesota State Retirement System (MSRS).

Employee Assistance Program – Employees and family members have free access to independent, confidential and professional assessment and short-term counseling services with the Sand Creek Group, Ltd.
Effective date of all insurance coverages is dependent upon the employee's date of hire. Coverage is effective no less than 30 days and no more than 60 days following the start day; i.e., start date of February 1 coverage is effective March 1; start date of February 2 coverage is effective April 1.

Employees can put up to $2,400 per year into a Medical Reimbursement Account to pay for out of pocket medical expenses pretax.

LIFE INSURANCE
$10,000 basic life insurance is part of the core benefits with the opportunity for the employee to purchase additional coverage for self, spouse, or dependents.

Employees can purchase AD&D insurance for both themselves and their spouse.
DISABILITY INSURANCE
Long Term Disability: Employees can purchase Long Term Disability insurance to cover up to 60% of salary in the event they are disabled and unable to work for more than 6 months.
Short Term Disability: $200/month required core benefit with the opportunity for employees to purchase Short Term Disability insurance to cover up to 60% of Salary if they are disabled and unable to work for up to 6 months.
