Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force
To focus law enforcement efforts on individuals involved in the sale, distribution and use of illegal narcotics. The task force is a cooperative effort on behalf of Beltrami County, the City of Bemidji, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Clearwater County, Lake of the Woods County, Leech Lake Reservation, Mahnomen County, the City of Park Rapids, and the White Earth Reservation.
At present, there are 10 full time Agents assigned to the task force which is supervised by Commander Gary Pederson of the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office.
Protect citizens by targeting drug users and distributors.
The Paul Bunyan Task Force announced on, June 16, 2011, that a permanent
drop off box has been established in the lobby of the Law Enforcement Center, 613 Minnesota Ave NW, Bemidji, MN (corner of 6th St NW and Minnesota Ave NW).
Citizens are welcome to drop off expired prescriptions or narcotics, however there are restrictions.
- No liquids will be accepted
-All drugs must be in zip lock bags NOT the original container they came in
-Absolutely NO SHARPS
The new drop off box is clearly marked with a red sign that says PRESCRIPTION DRUG DROP OFF and is located to your left when you come into the lobby, and directly under a small shelf. Simply insert the zip lock into the tamper proof entry of the box. This service is available 24/7 no questions asked.
