Deputy Sheriff / Police Officer for 25 years.
Beltrami County Deputy Sheriff for 14 years

Previous employment:  Cass County Deputy Sheriff, City of Pine River Police Officer, City of Glenwood Police Officer. Beltrami County Sheriff Patrol Supervisor / Sergeant since January, 2002. Beltrami County Sheriff K-9 handler since September, 2000.

  • Hunter

K-9 Hunter is a 9 ½ year old GSD (German Shepherd Dog) obtained in September, 2000 from the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office.   Ramsey County received him as a donation from an animal shelter in Waterloo, IA.
Trained to the standards of the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) and Graduated Police Dog I training in December, 2000.  Training consisted of criminal apprehension, searching and tracking.  Hunters first day on the job patrolling Beltrami County was December 18, 2000.

Trained to the standards of the USPCA and graduated Police Dog II Narcotics training in January, 2001.  He is trained in detecting and locating Cocaine and its derivatives, Methamphetamine and its derivatives, Heroin and Marijuana.  
K-9 Hunter retired from service to the citizens of Beltrami County and Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office in July, 2008.
