Financial Information
The County Administrator is responsible for all phases of countywide budget planning, preparation and monitoring. The Auditor's Office is responsible for preparing the countywide financial report and performing numerous accounting services such as financial management, long-term financial and capital improvement planning, debt financing, payroll, inventory of fixed assets, *accounts payable, accounts receivable and independent audit assistance.
The Auditor/Treasurer's Office also issues all liquor, beer and tobacco licenses as well as managing the periodic auctioning of fixed assets.
*Accounts Payable: Statutes require that most county expenditures need approval by the County Board. Since the County Board holds regular meetings on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month, payment processing is scheduled around those meetings. The Auditor's Office works with all county managers to get departmental approval of payments before they are even presented to the County Board. Consequently, bill payments are delayed simply because of the laws governing the use of public funds. Beltrami County makes every effort to pay vendors as soon as possible and appreciates the patience that vendors often must have.
