How to Recycle
Proper waste management starts with recycling. Future increases in waste charges will be due to the costs associated with proper waste management as well as long-term monitoring and clean up of contaminated ground water. It makes sense to recycle as much of our waste as possible to reduce our future costs. In addition to rising costs and waste volumes, the production and use of disposable products wastes raw materials and energy.
Beltrami County has two categories for recylcing:
Containers

Consist of tin or aluminum cans, glass bottles, plastics, only with a neck and (1) or (2) labeled on the bottom.
All must be rinsed and clear of all product residue. All lids must also be removed. |
Fiber Materials

Consist of cardboard, boxboard (i.e. cereal boxes), newspapers, magazines, catalogs, phone books and office paper. No waxed, coated or stained cardboard/box board, all inserts removed (i.e. cereal bags), no napkins, paper towels or bathroom tissue. Transfer Stations will accept: |
